Les adjectifs et les adverbes (Adjectives and adverbs)
Normally, adverbs are formed by adding the suffix '-ment' to the adjective. Whenever an adjective has a feminine form which differs from the masculine one, adverbs are formed by adding '-ment' to that feminine form. A small number of adverbs are formed irregularly. Short and very frequent adjectives normally precede the nouns that they determine, while all others are preceded by the nouns. Most adjectives are declined ; an adjective with a feminine headword has an '-e' added to its basic, masculine form. Adjectives with plural headwords have an '-s' (for masculine plural headwords) or '-es' (for feminine plural headwords) added to their masculine forms.
