secret test page

This is a series of audio files using different formats and different compressions schemes to test their behavior on different computers and platforms.

type compression sample rate bit depth link size known problems
.au, stereo PCM (none) 44.1 kHz 16 bit st-pcm44.1k.16b.au 428 Kb unix/next standard, supposedly the most universal, no compression.
.aiff, stereo PCM (none) 44.1 kHz 16 bit st-pcm44.1k.16b.aif 428 Kb mac standard, no compression. (but i think that it's possible within an AIFF file.
.wav, stereo PCM (none) 44.1 kHz 16 bit st-pcm44.1k.16b.wav 216 Kb windows standard, no compression.
.wav, stereo µ-Law 44.1 kHz 8 bit st.u-Law44.1k.8b.wav 216 Kb windows standard, µ-Law compression.
.au, stereo µ-Law 44.1 kHz 8 bit st.u-Law44.1k.8b.au 216 Kb unix/next standard, supposedly the most universal. What i was using for the little stuff.
.wav, stereo mpeg 3.22 kHz 56 kb? st-mpg3.22k.56kb.wav 20 Kb windows standard, mpeg compression.
.mp3, stereo mpeg 128 Kbps CBR st-mp3.128Kbps.mp3 44 Kb external player needed? not really anymore i guess.
Embedded mpeg     44 Kb    dumbass embeded mp3 (mpeg compression)
Embedded mpeg     20 Kb    dumbass embeded wav (mpeg compression)
