I just saw a tv show about Cappadocia, Turkey that blew me away. It is a huge complex of underground dwellings and others carved into stone. They said that it was a big christian community that was able to survive an amazingly long time beecause of the protection of the stone dwellings. I have also seen it in the mountain bike movie Kranked III and it was beautiful, but not until hearing some details about it from the show did it really amaze me.

Turkey has two long distance trekking routes: The Lycian Way opened in 1999, and The St Paul Trail opened in 2004. Both trails are about 500km long.
