Portuguese (Português)

I've finally completed the phrase guide in Portugues with help from a friend of Eric Schreiber. I still consider it in draft form, until I receive corrections, which inevitably happen!.

Once the booklet and site are done, I'll need a native speaker of Portuguese to record. You must speak a reasonably dialect free Portuguese. Portuguese is spoken in Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Sao Tome e Principe, East Timor, Macao, Guinea-Bissau, Goa, Diu, and, I've heard, parts of New England, USA.

Multilingual Books has some interesting stuff that amazon doesn't for Portuguese, usually more intense/more complete, and yes, more expensive.

Don't go to the Alternative Portuguese Dictionary unless you want to learn the bad side of the Portuguese language.

Buy Harper Collins Pocket Portuguese Dictionary. It's a small dictionary but very complete and popular.

Buy Lonely Planet Portuguese Phrasebook: With Two-Way Dictionary. A very thorough and high-quality book. It uses Brazilian Portuguese, but explains the differences where they differ.

software course
Buy Rosetta Stone: Portuguese Explorer.
I've played a little with Rosetta Stone programs. I think that the system is simple and effective. I'm not too into software courses: I need to get away from the computer, not spend more time in front of it, but the Rosetta Stone series seems to be pretty good.
