Balanced Rock Motel
"Gateway to Fruita FAT TIRE & Dinosaur Country"
Jozef & Halina Friendly people, close to town, and bikes allowed in rooms makes this place probably the best place for mountain bikers in town. H-Motel
AAA Aproved Stanley & Teresa Szczecina Parking in front of rooms and close to downtown and restaurants makes this my second choice.
Vivian Scott Looks like a really nice place, but I've never stayed here.
Bed & BreakfastsI've never stayed at the B&B's so I don't have any personal opinions yet.
Accommodations: 5 rooms in Historic Victorian home. Run by Krista and Brandon Caldwell.
I need to check this place out and do my own write up. Till then, here's something from their own mouths: "If you're planning a trip to Fruita and would like to stay at a place that allows you to truly make yourself at home, then look no further. At Casa Fruita you can hang out with your friends, cook meals at home, play games or watch movies when the storms roll in, work on your bike in the garage, and sleep like a baby at night." "We've created this house to fill the need of a "home away from home" for those who enjoy the fabulousness of the Fruita area. It's comfortably furnished, tastefully decorated, and reasonably priced. Outfitted with everything you'll need on your western slope getaway, you'll be glad you chose Casa Fruita as your home base."
Run by Amber Salt (no relation to Veruca Salt)
3 story house. Run by Dana and Al: "We have 3 rooms and we are working on a hostel idea. Bicyclists are welcome to store their bikes in our garage or in a locked portion of our barn. The barn is also where we are generating plans for the hostel. There will be a hose available for guests to wash their bikes. The hostel is in development stages so we will let you know more later." "As for our place being a good option for bicyclists, that is what we hope to achieve. Grapeland, was frequented by bicyclists. We have made a few changes but it is still the same house. We are laid back and welcome bicyclists to come and stay and be at home." "We also have the services that we provide [massage, oriental healing, etc.], so if a bicyclist has a pulled muscle or just needing more energy, we can help. Endurance supplements are available as well to increase stamina."
Facilities/Amenities: Breakfast buffet, Hot Tub, Guest Library, Basket Lunch service, Bicycles
There are also some typical-fare highway hotels on the south side of I-70.
